Programs Designed for Adults with IDD
Our programs are for adults aged 18+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities who want:

How Our Programs Work

Our programs run Monday–Friday, 9 am–3 pm, with locations in Bellevue and Kent.
Respite Funding & Waivers
Bridge of Promise is an approved respite provider and can help guide families in using respite funds and other benefits to cover participation costs.
Sample Program Day
9:00: Members arrive at program
9:30-10:00: Community sharing time
10:00-11:00: Members engage in a variety of in-house activities according to their interests; a structured project led by staff is offered each day
11:00-11:45: Members eat lunch and prepare for their outing
11:45-2:15: Community outing. Examples include museum and zoo visits, seasonal community events, adaptive outdoor recreation, park picnics, and more.
2:15-3:00: Return to program, enjoy in-house activities and social time with friends
3:00: Member pick-up

Registration Process
If you are interested in your loved one joining Bridge of Promise, scheduling a First Visit is the first step. During the visit, you’ll tour our program space and meet with a Program Director to discuss your loved one’s specific needs.
Tuition
Our hourly rate is the same as the DDA Respite rate of $25.08 per hour to ensure our program is accessible to all. Each program day lasts six hours. Members are billed on a monthly basis for program days attended, and families are welcome to pay using respite dollars or private funds.

How do you decide who can attend Bridge of Promise?
We welcome all disabilities and need levels to our programs. Before enrolling a member, families meet with a Program Director to assess the needs of the new member and determine if we can meet those needs. Unlike many programs, we do provide full personal care during the day at no additional cost and without requiring a caregiver to attend with the member. While we strive to include all, safety is our first priority and prospective members with behaviors that endanger others may not be a fit for our program.
Is there space available right now?
Bridge of Promise is growing. While we may not have space immediately, we are actively expanding to serve as many members as possible. We also offer drop-in programs for approved participants on a first-come, first-serve basis. If we do not have a current space, we will add you to our waitlist and work to get your member into program as soon as possible.
What types of care needs are you able to meet?
Our staff is trained to provide full personal care, including toileting/changes, feeding, and medication administration. We also welcome members with limited mobility.
How do you transport members in the community?
Community outings are central to our program. We have several wheelchair-accessible Access buses and vans available for transportation.
How many members are in program each day?
We typically serve between 12 and 20 members in each program per day with staff ratios between 2:1 and 3:1, depending on member needs.
How much does Bridge of Promise cost?
To keep our program accessible to all, our rates are aligned with current DDA Respite rates ($25.08 per hour). Families are welcome to use DDA Respite hours or pay privately. For families using DDA Respite hours, each program day provides six service hours. Our staff works with families during the intake process to determine the best option for them.
